How to Find (and Verify) the Right Brand Contact
August 10, 2026ยท6 min read

A brand's general inbox is where good pitches go to die โ€” it's usually monitored loosely, if at all, and rarely reaches the person who actually decides on creator partnerships. Finding the right individual contact is one of the highest-leverage things a manager can do, because the same pitch performs completely differently depending on who receives it.

Who You're Actually Looking For

Look for titles like these, roughly in order of how directly they usually own creator partnerships:

  • Influencer Marketing Manager
  • Creator Partnerships
  • Brand Partnerships
  • Partnerships Manager
  • Influencer Relations
  • Social Media Manager
  • Marketing Manager
  • PR Manager
  • Community Manager
Where to Find Them

Start with the company's own site โ€” many brands list a marketing or partnerships team on an About or Team page. From there, professional profiles (like LinkedIn) are usually the most reliable way to confirm someone's actual current title and spell their name correctly. Company social media bios and "work with us" pages sometimes list a direct contact too. This step is slow the first several times and gets noticeably faster with repetition.

Verifying Before You Send

Before sending anything, do a sanity check: does this person's title match what you're looking for, does their name match what you have, and is the email format consistent with how the company's other emails are structured? A quick search for the person's name alongside the company name is usually enough to confirm they're still there and still in the right role.

The Line You Don't Cross

Good research has limits. Never guess wildly at an email address, never fabricate contact information, and never send mass, unpersonalized outreach hoping something sticks. Stick to publicly available professional contact information and reasonable business research โ€” the kind any legitimate business development person would use. If a specific person genuinely can't be found after reasonable effort, a well-addressed general inquiry is better than a guessed or invented one.
